How it Works

Respite Providers are carefully screened by Northumberland Family Respite Services and
some of the requirements may include a Police Check, Vaccination Record. Wait periods can occur.
The Summer Buddy program provides community activities for children who qualify for the Children’s Respite Program. The Summer Buddy Program generally runs from July to early September depending on funding availability. Children are matched with a Summer Buddy worker for summer recreational opportunities. All workers are screened.
