Northumberland Family Respite Services Inc

Northumberland Family Respite Services is a not-for-profit agency formed in 1984 dedicated to providing a variety of respite options, host family services and community participation supports to individuals and their families within Northumberland County.

We are currently seeking an Executive Director to lead the agency. The successful candidate will report to the Board of Directors and be responsible for the development, administration and delivery of services provided by Northumberland Family Respite Services in accordance with agency policies and procedures, Government regulations and Ministry guidelines.

A commitment to our mission and philosophy related to assisting persons with a developmental need to live in a state of dignity, and to participate fully and effectively within our community is essential.


  • Graduate of a post-secondary education program related to social services, finance, administration or other relevant fields
  • Experience in the developmental services sector
  • Experience in finance, human resources and administration
  • Strong computer literacy skills
  • Highly effective and professional communication skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and creative skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff
  • Experience working with a volunteer board of directors a definite asset
